Events

Many of the events taking place across the City are listed on the Visit Portsmouth website.  Specific events in Southsea shopping areas are listed below.  For information regarding seafront businesses\events look at the Southsea Beach website. Most of the attractions hold their own events from time to time. Southsea Library, right in the heart of shopping in Palmerston Road, is a great place to find out more about What’s On around the City. Lots of events and activities offer you a chance to meet new people and expand your horizons.  You can take in a play, visit one of the many museums, such as the Natural History Museum, listen to a music event in the Wedgewood rooms, or party in a nightclub.

Walking around the area you will see the visible contrasts of old and new.  There are the historic buildings in Castle Street and around the area the buildings by the famous architect Thomas Ellis-Owen. 

All around the town within a short walk are the visable contrasts of old and new.  From historic buildings in Castle Stree to the bars, shopping, restaurants and nightlife of Albert Road, you will be spoilt for choice!!
